A quick introduction to our curved screens at Scanlite

We have a wealth of in-house expertise and our very own specialist manufacturing facilities at our disposal here at Scanlite, so throughout our history we’ve grown to become one of the go-to suppliers of digital LED displays – not just here in the North West, but even across the UK.

We cater to a wide variety of sectors, and we’re known for our ability to provide bespoke LED screens for almost any application or environment. And while most of those solutions are flat displays, something that you may not have known is that we can also provide curved displays too – especially for demanding or awkward spaces. So, if you’d like a quick introduction to the types of curved screens we can supply, and what we can achieve for you, well – you’re in exactly the right place. Here are just a couple of the most popular examples!

Flat screens with curves

That may sound like a bit of an oxymoron, but bear with us! When we talk about curved screens, what we find lots of people tend to picture is something like a curved TV screen, where there’s a consistent gradient curving it from end to end. And while we can supply those (and indeed, often have!), we’re also able to supply slightly more complex designs, too.

As you may know if you’ve ever seen one of our brochures, using our magnetic modules, we’re able to put a curve anywhere along the length of a screen. That enables us to create more specific designs, tailored to the layout of a particular space – for example, an L-shape, C-shape or S-shape.

Essentially, that means they can be altered to follow the curve of a room, or a piece of furniture (such as seating or a large table) so that your audience can enjoy a truly immersive experience – whether you’re selling to customers at a trade show, conveying architectural plans to prospective investors or clients, or raising awareness about an idea or cause. The list goes on!

Halo digital LED screens

You may well have spotted one of these in exhibition halls, or even large-scale versions in sporting stadiums. Halo screens are essentially 360 wraparound screens, almost always a significant distance from the ground (hence the term halo). We’ve produced several ambitious displays of this type for national clients, including telecoms companies Vodafone and O2.

As you’ve no doubt surmised, halo screens are increasingly popular for creating immersive and eye-catching displays in a variety of settings. These 360-degree wraparound LED displays offer continuous visibility from all angles, ensuring your content can be seen no matter where the audience is standing. That makes them useful for high-traffic environments like retail spaces, exhibition halls, or sporting stadiums – so you can maximise visual impact but sidestep the issues posed by areas where space is at a premium.

Whatever specific environment or application you have in mind, they offer a unique way to enhance your visual storytelling and engage your audience with a 360-degree view.

Spiral digital displays

One of the more ambitious (and technically impressive) types of flexible LED screens, spiral digital displays are often used in creative installations, art displays, or unique event setups where the aim is to captivate viewers with an engaging, fluid visual experience. The term spiral doesn’t necessarily mean ever-decreasing loops, by the way – while the term is relatively widely used, these types of digital displays tend to be more uniform, like a helix.

Sometimes, these types of displays are wrapped around a cylindrical object, such as a pillar, but equally they can be freestanding as well. Either way, it’s an excellent way to capture the attention of passers-by. They’re often used for news or financial tickers or similar written information, but that’s far from their only use – they can also provide countless creative opportunities for presenting live video feeds, vibrant graphics, branding, products, or promotional content.

As with lots of specialised displays, they may not be suited to every environment – but in the ones to which they are well suited (such as retail spaces), you can be sure they’ll absolutely excel.

And of course, if you ever need any help or advice about any bespoke displays – whether they’re curved or not – you can always get in touch with our team right here at Scanlite. We have more than 40 years of experience to our name, and have completed tens of thousands of installations up and down the UK, so you can always rely on us to provide answers in as much or as little detail as you need.
