The 4 key benefits of using mobile LED screens for your marketing
If you’ve taken even a quick look around our site, you’ll probably already have a pretty good idea of some of the most useful advantages that LED digital displays can have for your business. And now we’re all enjoying some wonderful summer weather, with millions of people all over the country spending time outside enjoying the heat and sun, there’s never been a better time to think about one type of LED digital signage in particular. We’re talking, of course, about mobile LED screens – the kind of outdoor digital displays you may have already seen mounted on the back of flatbed trucks. So then, what can they offer for your business? Well…
Maximise your audience reach (especially in summer)
By definition, many types of advertising only reaches a specific audience, especially the more established forms. Newspaper advertisements will only reach those who pick up a paper, while radio adverts will generally only be heard by people who listen to the radio on a regular basis. Social media adverts, on the other hand, will typically only reach those with an account on specific platforms.
Now, we’re definitely not saying this doesn’t make them worthwhile – simply that using them requires particularly careful thought as to the demographics involved. After all, certain types of media have always catered to specific kinds of audiences; physical newspapers are generally favoured by older generations, whereas social media is more popular with younger people.
So, how can you maximise your audience reach when you simply want to reach as many people as possible? Well, one way is to roll out a multi-pronged campaign across several channels at once, but depending on the budget and resources that you have available, that can involve varying degrees of expense and complexity. A simpler way is to communicate your message through a fixed LED advertising display, although one of the few limitations with that is that it can only be seen by people who move past that fixed location.
Mobile LED digital signage, on the other hand, allows you to bypass that limitation, and communicate your message to as many people as possible across a wide area. Unlike some other forms of media, mobile outdoor digital screens aren’t limited to people of a certain age, or background, or with specific hobbies or interests. They can be seen by everyone, whether they’re walking, cycling, driving or using public transport. What’s more, they’re especially useful in summer, when people are out in larger numbers enjoying the world outside their homes. If you want to get your message out to as many people as possible, mobile LED digital signage provides the perfect way to do that.
Precisely target your audience based on location
One of the greatest things about mobile digital signage is somewhat paradoxical. While it can be used to reach a significantly wider audience (as we’ve detailed above), by the same token it can also be used to refine your audience targeting with surprising precision, based on their location.
If you’re targeting specific communities for example, you can effectively reach a huge proportion of that community by circulating your LED digital screen around the area in which they’re based – whether that’s a small village, a larger town, or even a specific district of an entire city. By utilising GPS technology, you can also track exactly where your advertisement has been, as well as where it’s going, giving you a good general idea of the sort of coverage you’re currently achieving.
It’s worth remembering that the people you’re targeting don’t even have to be based in the area full time – they might live there on a permanent basis, or they might only be there for a week or two, or even as short as a few days. If there are music fans in town for a festival, or professionals staying for a conference, you can maximise your reach to them by focusing your mobile LED signage around the areas you know they’ll be.
As we’ve covered in a recent post, you can also maximise the effectiveness of your screens if you carefully control the content you show them in real-time, tailoring it to their emotions or circumstances at that given moment – whether they’re amped up on the way in to their event, or wandering around at lunch time, looking for good places to eat.
Provide fresh value for attendees at your own events
Mobile LED advertising displays can be put to equally good use at your own events too, giving you a useful means of communicating fresh content to your attendees. This may be in the form of additional products and services from your own company, or advertisements from your contractors or sponsors.
But as we’ve explained in our linked post above, it doesn’t just have to be additional advertisements displayed on your screens. You can also provide fresh value to your attendees by giving them useful information about what to do and where to go, as well as details like schedules, dates or times using options like clock displays. If they get into the habit of consulting your screens for useful information, they’re likely to be more receptive to whatever else you show on them, too.
And by moving your mobile LED screens around your entire event – possibly on set routes – you can ensure that your messages reach as many of your attendees as possible. Don’t forget that you can be strategic with your placement of them, too. If all your attendees are going to be in a main hall for the morning event, you can place your LED digital signs at the exits for when they leave at lunch, providing them with helpful information about where to go, or making suggestions about where they might want to eat.
The perfect cost-effective temporary solution, with easier logistics
We’ve gone into detail about the general benefits of LED digital signage before, including some of the key ways in which they can increase sales. So if you think your business could benefit from some of these advantages, but for whatever reason you’ve opted not to go for a full-scale fixed installation, then mobile LED digital signage can be a great way to enjoy all the benefits on a short-term basis, possibly as briefly as just for a day or two. (That’s part of the reason that so many businesses can find them a cost-effective option, too!)
Plus, depending on the nature of your project, you might find the logistics are easier when you don’t have to prepare a dedicated location for your screens. There are fewer hoops to jump through, and possibly fewer permissions you might have to seek. That makes them most convenient and affordable to set up, as you’re free to make all the preparations for the displays on your own premises, and then simply send them out onto the roads. You don’t have to worry about clearing space at a set destination, or infringing on the rights or properties of other entities. With that said, every project is slightly different, so do make sure you do your due diligence regardless!
